How we operate
A contractor built around the one thing that decides whether cleaning holds up
Clean Best has traded since 2015 and works from 54 Columbia Rd, Seven Hills NSW 2147, servicing premises across the Sydney metropolitan area. The business exists around a single observation, which is unglamorous and almost embarrassingly simple: commercial cleaning does not fail because people cannot clean. It fails because the price was never able to fund the hours the scope implied, and everything after that is arithmetic.
Why the scope comes before the price
If you write the number first, you will find a scope to fit it. That is not dishonesty, it is gravity — and it is how a client ends up with a beautiful task list and a price that could never have delivered it. So we do it the other way round: walk the premises at the hour we would be cleaning it, name every area, put a task and a cycle against each, work out the hours that takes, and only then produce a figure.
It is slower. It occasionally loses us work to somebody quoting from a floor plan. It also means the thing we quoted is the thing that happens, which turns out to be the entire product.
Why we will tell you the hours
Ask us how many labour hours a visit buys and how we got there, and we will tell you. We would encourage you to ask this of everyone you are considering, because almost nobody expects it and the answers are extremely revealing. A contractor who has scoped properly answers immediately. One who has guessed changes the subject.
Why the audit reaches you, even when it is not flattering
A named supervisor walks your premises monthly against the scope you signed — the same walk we did when we quoted — and sends you the result. If something has slipped, the document says so. An audit that always passes is not an audit, it is a newsletter, and everybody involved knows it.
Between audits, the arrangement is simple: if something in your scope is missed, call the supervisor and we return and put it right at no charge. If it is missed twice, we change the method, the schedule or the cleaner rather than sending the apology again.
Why there is no lock-in
A fixed term protects the contractor, not the client. Once the signature is on the page, the pressure to hold the standard in month nine falls away and your only remedy is a dispute. So we work on a rolling agreement with 30 days notice either way, which means we have to keep earning it — a considerably more uncomfortable position, and a considerably more honest one.
What we do not claim
We do not publish a star rating or a review count on this site. A rating a business writes about itself is not evidence of anything, and a self-declared rating cannot produce a star in Google’s results in any case. We hold no ISO certification and we do not claim one. We will not tell you we are accredited by a body that has never assessed us.
There are also no testimonials on this website. Not because we have no happy clients, but because we do not have quotes from them with documented consent, and writing testimonials ourselves would be misleading conduct under the Australian Consumer Law. When real ones exist, with permission, they will appear. Until then the space stays empty, which is at least honest.
